What is Entertaiment?
Entertaiment is an exciting form of recreation that combines amusement with learning, and often with social and cultural values. The word entertainment derives from the Medieval Latin intertenere, from the prefix intra, meaning “inside,” and tenere, which stretches back to the Indo-European root ten, which means “stretch.” It is a word with a broad spectrum that can be adapted for any scale, from an individual selecting a private entertainer from an enormous array of pre-recorded products; to a dinner for two; to a banquet adapted for a large group; to performances aimed at thousands.
What is entertainment for one person may be work or cruelty for another, and what is enjoyable for a group of people is not necessarily enjoyed by the whole community.
