The Daily News at Yale University

Daily News is an American newspaper published in New York City. It is the first tabloid-formatted daily newspaper in the United States and was founded in 1919. It is currently owned by tronc, and is the ninth most widely circulated newspaper in the United States. Its AllSides Media Bias Rating is “Left”.

The paper is known for its intense coverage of New York City news and sports and celebrity gossip. It has long been locked in a circulation battle with the rival tabloid New York Post. It was once the largest daily newspaper in the world, but its current circulation is a fraction of what it was in its heyday.

Each day, the Daily News features national and international news, local New York exclusives, political coverage, sports and entertainment news. The paper has won many journalism awards, including Pulitzer Prizes. The paper is also known for its editorials and opinion pieces. Its columnists are well-known and influential, and it has the only editorial page of any major metropolitan daily.

In addition to its main print edition, the Daily News has a number of digital products. Its website, the Daily News Online, is available both in the US and internationally. The newspaper’s online offerings include Daily News Live, a live video stream of the paper’s front page. In addition, the Daily News Online provides articles from the paper’s archives and additional content such as blogs and commentaries.

Each Daily News article includes comprehension and critical thinking questions that are designed to encourage readers to think about the issues and topics presented. Additionally, each article provides links to background and resources (including videos) for further research. Each question is accompanied by a “Reader Response” box, which allows readers to provide feedback and ask questions about the story.

During the academic year, the Yale Daily News publishes five days a week Monday through Friday, as well as a weekly magazine and several special issues in collaboration with campus and community groups. The Daily News is the nation’s oldest college daily and remains financially and editorially independent from Yale’s administration. It is published in collaboration with the university’s multicultural centers and affiliated student groups, and features stories celebrating Indigenous, Black, Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures.
